Physician Resources from OHA’s Knowledge Centre

The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) has a number of useful resources for physicians which, depending on the publication, can be freely accessed or purchased from the OHA’s Knowledge Centre. These resources include:

Emergency Department (ED) Medical Directives Implementation Kit

This toolkit assists physicians and health professional staff across the province with developing, approving, and implementing medical directives in their Emergency Department directives. To access this toolkit, please click here.

Hospital Prototype Board-Appointed Professional Staff By-law

The Prototype Board-Appointed Professional Staff By-laws were developed as a best practice guide for hospitals to use when amending their own by-laws, and generally reflect contemporary legislative and public policy imperatives and current hospital practice. To access this toolkit, please click here.

Guidebook For Managing Disruptive Physician Behaviour

This guidebook, which has been endorsed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and the OHA, was developed in response to the growing body of literature that raised concerns about the behaviour of health care professionals, physicians in particular, and the impact of behaviour on patient outcomes. The publication offers some tools that the authors hope will be useful to those who work in a variety of educational and health care delivery settings. To access this guidebook, please click here.
