The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) is in the process of planning for the next Administrative Physician Compensation Survey which will be circulated to hospitals end of January 2012.
The Administrative Physician Compensation Survey, which is conducted annually, examines hospital compensation practices as they pertain to the administrative component of select administrative physician positions.
Consistent with other OHA salary surveys, the online survey utilizes a familiar web-based interface for the collection of data relating to stipends, time commitments, and common perquisites for several benchmark positions. These benchmark positions are comprised of positions at the levels of Chief of Staff, Department Chiefs, Section Heads, and Medical Directors in various specialty categories.
The final report, which is used generally by HR professionals, is generated from the data collected and shows information presented regionally and by LHIN, as well as by hospital type, operating budget, number of beds, and number of staff. The results of this survey will also maintain the confidentiality of participant responses. The last survey was conducted in 2009 and includes data from approximately 76 hospitals.
