The Capital Procurement Cooperative (CPC) team is currently meeting with hospital delegates and shared service organizations (SSOs) throughout the province in anticipation of the Ontario Hospital Association’s (OHA) upcoming Diagnostic Imaging (DI) procurement, set to begin in January 2012. The deadline to register is January 6, 2012.
In order to reach hospital delegates all over Ontario, the OHA held an informant webcast in late November entitled Collaborative Procurement of Capital Equipment through the OHA. The session provided hospitals, SSOs, and vendors with an overview of the CPC’s mandate, introduction to the CPC’s procurement team, and details of the program’s design and process.

The CPC offers hospitals and SSOs the opportunity to improve their purchasing power for capital equipment through the aggregation of greater volumes, while reducing duplication of the procurement effort. Under the guidance of a professional bid administrator, participants collaboratively shape the RFP to reflect their procurement needs. Though a single RFP is released for all participants, each hospital retains the ability to evaluate and choose the equipment that is best for their organization while still allowing common interests to be aggregated. Through this model, the CPC is dedicated to providing a comprehensive, customer-driven service at a low, fixed transaction fee with no membership fee or long-term commitment.
