Trillium Health Centre received the Canada Order of Excellence Award from Excellence Canada for its Excellence, Innovation and Wellness programs at a celebration luncheon on November 1, 2011.
The Order of Excellence Award is the highest level of recognition presented by Excellence Canada. Trillium is the only hospital to receive this prestigious national award this year and one of only two hospitals to ever receive it.
The award recognizes organizations that have successfully maintained a focus on excellence over the long term and have previously received the Canada Awards for Excellence Gold Trophy.
“Receiving the Canada Order of Excellence is deeply gratifying because it recognizes the tremendous contribution of our people to a sound, systematic approach to quality in everything we do,” said Janet Davidson, O.C., president and CEO of Trillium Health Centre. “This achievement demonstrates the hard work, leadership and commitment of the entire Trillium team to delivering high quality performance for our patients while caring for each other and creating a healthy workplace.”
In awarding the Order of Excellence, Excellence Canada cited several of Trillium’s approaches and programs, including commitment to continuous improvement through active leadership and appropriate financial support, overall quantitative goal setting, healthy workplace practices and community collaboration.
