Dr. Jack Kitts, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital, takes time out of his busy day to share with us his perspectives on physician leadership. In this 30-minute interview, Laurie Cabanas, OHA Consultant in Physician and Professional Issues, engages in a dialogue with Dr. Kitts about his experiences as a physician leader and gains some insights into what physician leadership will look like in the future.

Dr. Jack Kitts Receives the 2011 Canadian Society of Physician Executives (CSPE) Excellence in Medical Leadership Award

The Canadian Society of Physician Executives (CSPE) award recognizes physicians who make an outstanding contribution to the development and mentorship of medical leaders in the field of health services leadership and management. The 2011 recipient of the CSPE award is Dr. Jack Kitts, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital

As CEO of the largest hospital in the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), Dr. Kitts has played a pivotal role in the development of an integrated health system for this part of Ontario. Other key positions directly related to leadership and particularly physician leadership, are his present roles as chair of the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) Physician Provincial Leadership Council and chair of the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations.
