The Ontario Hospital Association's (OHA) Governance Centre of Excellence (GCE) is pleased to announce the launch of the Guide to Good Governance, Second Edition.
The OHA and GCE have a mandate to promote and foster excellence in health care governance, to promote a culture of shared accountability, and to assist hospitals in their efforts to enhance governance of their organizations. The Guide to Good Governance, Second Edition supports this mandate. Like the first edition, the second edition of the Guide provides a comprehensive overview of the key components of good governance practices, as well as templates and tools to implement and support these practices.
The second edition of the Guide also helps hospital boards navigate various recent legislative and regulatory changes affecting the hospital sector, including the introduction of the Excellent Care for All Act and the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, and amendments to Regulation 965 under the Public Hospitals Act.
Copies of the Guide to Good Governance, Second Edition will be first be made available for sale at the Health Care Governance Forum on September 23-24, 2011. The new Guide can also be ordered as of September 23, 2011 through www.oha.com/knowledgecentre.
