Over the course of 2011, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) hosted a number of educational offerings geared specifically to physician leaders working in hospitals:
1) The Changing Role of the Medical Advisory Committee (March 30, 2011)
Under the Excellent Care for All Act (ECFAA) and changes to Regulation 965 of the Public Hospitals Act, the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) must make some important changes to its structure and function. Webcast and videoconference participants received an overview of legislative changes that affect the MAC and heard from the Chairs of MACs from a small and large urban hospital regarding how they have implemented these changes in their organizations.

With new legislation impacting hospitals, it is critical that physicians participate in the design and implementation of changes that will occur. Webcast and videoconference participants learned how some hospitals have successfully engaged their physicians in hospital initiatives and how you can measure and monitor the level of physician engagement at your organization.
